Fallen

I have loved, and I’ve been loved in turn
But now, there are so many questions
Like dominoes, once one falls, then they all fall
I’ve lost my way…is it too late?

You said once that I brought you light
Like a ray of the sun, that’s what you said
But now it appears that I only cast shadows
Caught in this shadow of doubt, I’ve been cast out

I know a place where the angels are falling
Where faith has been shaken beyond all repair
You spend your time fighting off all your devils
While there’s an angel that’s falling...
Right in front of you

I used to trust, I used to know trust
And the stories were true, I truly loved you
You gotta stay pure in your heart, I know
And I know the day I felt it go

I thought that we, that we saw eye to eye
Recognizing love, I thought we would try
To not let this die, to let this love fly
Now all I wish is that I could take it all back
and not let it break, to not feel this heartache
But too late! I've fallen from Your grace

I know a place where the angels are falling
Where pure hearts are emptied of their precious wine
You spend your time so bedeviled by devils
Can't you see there’s an angel that’s falling...
Right in front of you

It is my extreme pleasure to be able to let you know that the new project is now more than halfway completed. Veil & Subdue is a concept album that takes the medical condition of night terrors into an entirely mythical context. Nothing else can be revealed yet concerning this project, except that it is very dark, and very passionate. Think goth-opera. Collaborator Anna Meade plays an important role in this project...details to come!

As the year begins to draw in earnest to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on how changes and events in one's life are seldom as straightforward as they seem - they almost always end up playing pivotal roles in other events later on. At the time, the events themselves seem to be the most important things in the world. But later, far away in time and space, those same events become pieces in a bigger jigsaw puzzle. And if you have the wherewithall, and can let go of resentment and anger and sadness and FEAR, you are able to look down and see that each was necessary for the bigger picture that is forming NOW. It's a puzzle never finished, but always in the process of being finished. A wonderful Mobius Loop ;) . We create our puzzle through our struggle and triumphs, and out of our laughter and tears. It never ends. The key is to keep putting it together, to keep looking, keep asking, keep doubting and keep having fun - all at the same time! That is, in my opinion, the state of Bliss.

Thank you to everyone who has made the puzzle of my life so amazingly unique and moving this past year. Through achievements, and through loss, I am grateful.

Hello everyone! I know, it's been a while...well, there's been plenty to keep me nice and busy! Of most immediate relevance, STRANGEHAVEN has been very well received! I've very much enjoyed distributing this new work, and have enjoyed the opportunities to perform the entire album live. Also, in December I will be on stage at the St. Augustine Ampitheatre, acting in Theatre St. Augustine's premiere play, O.Henry's Gift of the Magi. That will be running for six consecutive weeks, and should keep me quite occupied!

In addition, a new body of music is in the works. I can't give away much just yet, but it is much more in the traditional MASQUE vein, i.e., dark and dramatic! About a third of it has now been recorded, and the rest is flowing! I promise you a tour de force - and yes, it is a concept album - my own "goth opera"! Stay tuned for more information soon...

Happy Halloween to all my fans out there!!!

Well well well...I am truly excited to finally be able to announce the impending arrival of "STRANGEHAVEN", the new MASQUE body of work! In the next few days the entire album will be downloadable from this site. I have thoroughly enjoyed recording this collection of stripped down, "me-and-the-guitar" -style songs. Many friends and family have asked for something like this for quite a while now, so I hope you all enjoy it!
Oh, and there's a new cover to this album, by the way. So all you bootleggers can cash in on those early demos that featured the "gnome" artwork! Here's what it now looks like...

Good evening, all. Sorry I haven't updated this recently. I've been hard at work in studio, with two of the resulting songs now available for a sneak preview (see above). Candle fans will be glad to know that another song, Home, is also in the final stages of production. Yes, Home originally appeared on 1993's Maxwell Manor album, and it's been fun revisiting and reinterpreting this special song. One of the two sneak preview songs, I Will, has its origins during the same time period, but lyrics and final composition were not finished until a few months ago. Funny how ideas so often get left behind and lost. I'm glad this one surfaced again.

Unbelievable. I haven't yet officially announced the new site, and already word has been spreading and I have received so much positive response! Thanks to everyone who has responded, suggested, and purchased! For those who have already stopped by once or twice, I suggest going back to the Music Downloads page. There's a new section called The Masque Vault, where every month I will feature a different song from the extensive Masque archives. Many of these songs are quite rare, and are digital/downloadable for the very first time! I hope you enjoy them.

Hello, MASQUE fans! Thanks so much for visiting my new website. We are thrilled to finally have a place for you to download FREE music, learn all about Masque, and acquire some cool Masque-related stuff. It is imperative that the Masque music and logo spread far and wide, so thanks in advance for your support and help.

This website is being built just in time - in the coming months work will begin on the next Masque album, Strangehaven, and I'm sure advanced recordings of some of the songs will appear here first! The coming album will be very acoustic and "folksy", and will fulfill the hints laid down by certain "Little Fears" tracks. Go check out Comin' Round Again, Moments of Knowing and Still I in the Little Fears download page to get an idea of what's to come. I'm really excited to start getting this project down, and can't wait to post the results. Stay tuned and keep visiting for updates!
